Though Digimon generally want their entire grup to succeed, they're most devoted to protecting their individu human partners. The bond between the two is what gives Digimon the strength to Digivolve and fight. If a human character dies in Digimon Bertahan, it's quite likely that their Digimon mitra will leave the party. If so, then Digimon wouldn't need to die in Digimon Survive; their presence would be felt all the same.
